I’m loving the beauty of “plan for energy abundance “.

I also love the thoughtful discussion of how systems can be robust and reliable through redundancy. And how we need more slack in systems to plan for resilience as well.

In my world of distributed systems we do a lot to plan for capacity and available slack in systems. Making sure you have slack in a system is incredibly important because shocks to it aren’t linear.

Underwhelming.

It's so weird and wonderful

Mary Winn Heider will break your heart with this tale of a brother and sister that lose their dad - no one can find him - but find a bear - where it shouldn't be - and lose a tuba. Things they also lose: - status in the town they live in. - their relationship with each other - the reason they drifted apart - the bear

I don't want to give away too much, but you'll get misty reading this which will be a weird way to also be laughing a lot.

Everyone is beautiful or tragic or going through growth or crazy or famous and it's a bit much.

Another brilliant exploration of other minds with even more high stakes.
