Review of 'Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights' on 'Goodreads'

This was my first experience with Salman Rushdie, and while I was impressed with his depth, I felt like this was probably not his most representative work. Large swaths of it felt oddly dispassionate. It read like Umberto Eco writing a comic book -- that is to say, the story didn't match the voice. Neither was bad, but they didn't gel for me.
