Drawn from both private and public collections by independent scholar/archivist Roob, it is a compendium of images and objects depicting Western esoteric science going all the way back to Pythagoras. Roughly divided into conceptual sections, the book exposes readers to the imagery and symbolism of transmutation, sacred geometry, and astrology direct from original documents. Though text is kept to a minimum, the book is very informative; much can be learned from descriptive captions about the Rosicrucians, Cabala, and Jacob Bohme as well as individual visionaries such as Hildegard yon Bingen and William Blake. Because information contained in the Hermetic Museum spans so many centuries, countries, and traditions, visually tracing the development of key Western beliefs throughout time, it is a useful tool for students of many disciplines.
