I'm a big fan of Terry McMillan's! It's Not All Downhill From Here was somewhat disappointing to me. Throughout her work, strong female characters face and conquer challenges. This piece was more challenging than others. Every character had sorrowful difficulties . . . from start to finish. Maybe it's just the times, but this was a little bleak for me.
