the idea was interesting and i loved the premise of two girls being made of something. the plot was interesting too because i thought it would be two girls fighting for the throne.

however, as i was reading this book, i felt more annoyed by the characters. annoyed by nicholas because he can't seem to get over his dead wife and doesn't even want to move on. annoyed at gregory because of his cruelty and his belief that everything he is doing is right. annoyed at mina because she can't get over her jealousy to even take care of lynet or even realize that she doesn't need to be queen. and especially at lynet for thinking that she could escape what she was meant to be. i don't know, the characters annoyed me, the story was too slow, and it didn't really satisfy me as i wanted it to be. …
