This was the first book I've read by someone I know through Tiktok, and I recognize some of the pieces included here from their video versions. The authors has over fifteen million followers now for his takes as animals with an edge decided by different in form from the usual naturalist take of what goes on in the wild. While all the information is well researched and interesting, it is mainly the style that makes this book enjoyable to a reader It is a quick read, which I consumed in audiobook form, without any deep dives for any individual of the hundred species (unless you count the number one most dangerous lifeform covered at the end.). I think it succeeds at what it sets out to be. There probably are people who are turned off by the content (strong language, graphic depictions of bodily harm). So it's not suitable for …
