Time to start the new year right, with Swamp Thing!
In this volume, the Swamp Thing Mythos is reinvented, yet again. Over all, this volume of comics is interesting if a bit dense. That is to say, this is an interesting and entertaining story... however, Swamp Thing and several other super heroes work best when we can pretend they don't share the Universe with other powerful beings. I mean, everyone knows something terrible is going on; Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Batman, the Flash; but the only thing that is trying to get something done about it is the Parliament of the Trees. And they suck at motivating Dr. Holland because, well, they're f*cking trees.
Dense, but exciting and somewhat horrifying, this tale works best the more you ignore that it takes place in the DC Universe.
