This book was made possible by a grant from Tosh Fesh, which published and funded the production of this short comic on loss, absence, memory, imagination, religion, diaspora, and return.
Set in Chicago (home to the largest Palestinian community in the United States) during the mid 90s, the comic tells the story of a Palestinian-American family's loss of a child, exploring what it means to miss a person you never knew, long for a place you've never been, and both the blind faith and elaborate fantasies we cultivate to convince ourselves that bearing the weight of these absences is worthwhile.
