It's alright. Written more by historians than storytellers, though, so it's pretty dry. And very anglo-centric- pretty much all told from the point of view of the West. Take that as you will.

Winston Groom: Forrest Gump (1994, Pocket Books)

It was alright. I didn't hate it, but I also didn't love it. I think the screenwriter for the film made good choices in adapting it, mostly by changing most everything.

Very pleasant slice of life from one of the foundational American horror writers. Her kids are delightfully weird and fascinating, but boy, did her husband seem like a non-entity.

It's strange that at 422 pages, it feels underbaked, but it does. Somehow the character feel underdeveloped and the plotting feels rushed and haphazard. More like a first draft than a completed book.
