Apt Pupil = terrifying, one of his most insidious stories.

This was kind of tough to get through, especially the films section... Re-reading over 20 years after I first read it, now I've read most of the books he covers! Still not read any Straub apart from the collabs.

I had no memory of this! Really enjoyed it though, love the tie-ins with the Dark Tower and the fantasy atmosphere. The copy I got from the library was a 1st (UK) edition with some illustrations and an AMAZING font for the chapter headings etc. This book has inspired me to create a 16bit chiptune dungeon synth project in its honour.
