Love scifi and fantasy but IMHO those are not genres are only settings. Read in Spanish and English, would love to read in French too but I barely speak it. I was an avid reader as child and teen , later came life but I then again went on reading again, but some years ago I stopped and now I'm slowly beginning again. If you like "The Martian" you will like this.

Stranded lonely astronaut fighting for staying alive this this time on a spaceship. Includes more different things that make it more varied than "The Martian" , lots of flashbacks and don't know how will they manage that in the movie they're making of the book. Like "The Martian" lots of science and humour. IMHO it's a good read, keeps you going forward to know how he solves each of the problems, if you're a bit geekie and you like science and space you will find it really entertaining.

When young Roy Malcolm won the Aviation Quiz Contest, the sponsor, World Airways, never dreamed …

As much I like cyberpunk and dark sci-fi It's always nice to read some old optimistic sci-fi. Written by the great Arthur C. Clarke, it's surprising when you see the date when it was written, the hopes they had at that time and the way and precision He describes all the problems with living in space.
