Vor zirka drei Jahren wurde ein Video namens "Medieval Found Footage" auf YouTube hochgeladen. Zu sehen waren verschiedene mittelalterliche Szenen, die laut der Geschichte von einem Zeitreisenden auf Video aufgenommen wurde. Das Ganze war ziemlich offensichtlich gefĂ€lscht, es war einfach nur ein Zusammenschnitt aus verschiedenen Dokumentationen und Filmen, die im Mittelalter spielten. Trotzdem ĂŒbte die Idee des Medieval Found Footage einen ungeheuren Sog auf mich aus. Umso faszinierter war ich davon, dass Das Jesus Video tatsĂ€chlich, fast zwanzig Jahre vor diesem Video, eine Ă€hnliche Idee hatte und ausarbeitete. Ein Zeitreisender verewigt Jesus auf Video und versteckt es irgendwo in Israel, mysteriöser geht es wohl nicht.
Das Buch an sich ist viel zu lang, hĂ€tte wahrscheinlich mit zwei Drittel der LĂ€nge eine Ă€hnliche Wirkung erzielt. Gerade der Anfang hat sich aus meiner Sicht stark gezogen. Ich brauchte soviel Zeit fĂŒr die ersten Zweihundert wie fĂŒr die restlichen vierhunderteinundfĂŒnfzig Seiten.
