This was a really good book, but what was even better was how it brought you into a world and a series that spans generations.
Giving up on this due to dismal lack of creativity in character development, which friends claim gets better in later books. TW sexual violence, misogyny, torture, nonconsensual psychiatric treatment, extreme sexist stereotyping
