it is not easy to be an anthropomorphic personification...

my thoughts: the first of Pratchett's novels which I really liked. The first three were funny but to me nothing special but here Pratchett starts to refine his approach, still with some wrinkles which are ironed out in the later novels but it's all there: normally unrelated everyday concepts and ideas which when brought together yield interessenting results, witty puns and insightful obsevation on society and humanity in general.
my recommendation: if you don't like this book you probably don't need to bother with the rest of the series. If you like funny and smart written fiction try this one and then go and read them all.
