It was what I expected...

After hearing a discussion of the source books for Bridgerton, I decided I should probably know the underlying original material. It was the kind of soap opera I expected. And that's fine, if you like that. But I watch Bridgerton for the costumes mostly--which is something less well served by the book.

I would have rated this book a four if it wasn't for the one dubious consent scene. Overall it was light, fluffy, which is what I want from a paperback. That said, I did sort of feel like something was missing. Which could have been because I started reading at 11pm and read it all in one sitting.
