Sometimes the change of setting and status quo is for the better - indeed, it has to happen eventually in any book series. But sometimes it is for the worse, and I don't think this series carries it well.

This book, while still a very enjoyable read, lacks some of the attractions of the original, namely the days of the bakery, the quirky and caring cast of Insula, who appear mostly as cameos, Jason's muffins, even the cats take the back stage.

The mystery is lacking as usual - it is mostly a series of coincidences and even without the interference of the characters it would probably have solved itself.

That being said, it is still a cozy read, Corinna is still an excellent role-model to fat woman, and she even gets to do a few genuinely badass things in this episode. And, most of all, I am just sad …
