Razor Girl

I adored this book! Hiaasen weaves together the Darwin-award antics (many based on true stories) of Florida's finest citizens with heavier societal issues--e.g. xenophobia, gun control, climate change--into this riotously funny, though heavy-handed, satire of Floridian--and American--culture. The characters are as colorful and idiosyncratic as Florida itself, and there is never any lull to the pace as each storyline in this book comes to its inevitable head. This is only the second Hiaasen book I've read, but it definitely will not be the last.
