The Nodding Express ran smoothly across the tracks at each chapter until just past midway. Claims unsupported, unsubstantiated about qualities and volition of invisible, inaudible entities, the ignorance of conditioning, adaptation as affect in favour of past lives (what if one is starting out with one life? what if one life is all one gets) are rocks on the tracks.
There's a lot that's good and applicable, but questionable digressions and overlong stays in Wooville ("we're coming to the end of a 125,000 year cycle, coinciding with the end of a 25,000 year cycle, and a 2000 year cycle") broke the trance-hold. Aspiration to authentic power is a worthy goal, and the exercises, meditation, and questions in the Study Guide seem to guide the soul incarnate toward that aim.
