I know I'm late to the party, but the first 3/4 of this book felt like the beginning of a standard D&D campaign, then Polgarra (apologies for the possible spelling errors here, I listened rather than read) went off the rails mad with power, melting people's eyes and...okay? That was out of nowhere. Like everything about her behavior made no sense in the last half. It was unevenly paced, and fairly generic. I don't see myself returning to the series.
