I went into this book with absolutely no other expectation than to enjoy a Regency Mystery, which seem to be my current fave type of mystery apparently. And I did. What was unexpected was that I enjoyed it thoroughly. I liked Kiera and her backstory, which I hope is delved into in the next few books. I liked her interactions with potential love interest and partner in crime solving Gage too. Though I would have liked to have seen more of his reasoning behind some of the things he does. But I guess it is for another book (hopefully).

I liked that we get to see only Kiera's POV in this book. She seems to be an introvert who is trying to traverse a society that she has been thrust into after her husbands death and the actions he took and at the same time is trying understand feelings she …
