Shannon describes the novel as a "feminist retelling of Saint George and the Dragon." In April 2022, Shannon announced A Day of Fallen Night, a "standalone prequel," to The Priory of the Orange Tree. The novel will be published on February 28, 2023 by Bloomsbury Publishing.

Me ha gustado mucho el libro. No se me ha hecho lento ni largo (y eso que tiene unas cuantas páginas!). Me ha gustado mucho cómo bebe de diversos cuentos, mitologías y religiones.

Quizá hay algunas cosas de cómo acaba la historia que no terminan de convencerme. Por ser muy abiertas, o por haber pocos sacrificios. Y desde luego, Niclay Roos tiene unos requiebros en su personaje que no termino de ver justificados.

Quitando eso, que son cosas menores, me ha encantado el libro y la forma de escribir de Samantha Shannon. Voy a buscar más cosillas de ella.
