I just re-read Kim & Kim vol. 1 (This Glamorous, High-Flying Rock Star Life). When I first read this a couple of years ago I was flashed more, but it's still fantastic on re-reading. Told deftly and boldly, no holds barred, a wild space fantasy bounty hunting adventure that's queer as fuck. The style levels are ridiculously over the top. I like the voice and fervour that permeates not just the writing, but the lines and colors. The characters are characters, not just talking props. They shoulder their baggage, and their trauma lodges in their insides like a meteorite lump. This might be a cosmic adventure romp, but the protagonists still face issues that are real.
