sifuCJC reviewed The Names by Florence Knapp
Heavy but uplifting
5 stars
There's a literary 'trick' used in the book that seems trite but is quite effective.
And although this is a great book, the emotional violence is extreme. It (domestic violence) has to be talked about (in this day and age especially), but it is doled out respectfully and carefully. You aren't deluged by it, but allowed to heal before seeing more. You will definitely cry. But by the end you feel cared for.
