Review of 'Hollywood Babylon' on 'Goodreads'

My first read: I picked this up from the library because there were some items about an early Hollywood screen icon whom I idolized. Not telling how old I was at the time, only that I learned some 'grownup' words I didn't get to use until a decade after and that motion picture industry people lead strange, sad, desperate lives. Exceedingly memorable, if ever I meet Gilbert Gottfried and Frank Santopadre, I will never be without salacious Hollywood history conversation tidbits. I wonder what it would have been like to have learned of Lupe Velez, Clara Bow, Albert Dekker and Jayne Mansfield by seeing them on the screen BEFORE reading Hollywood Babylon.
