This was a great story and paced pretty well till the last few pages of the book. The ending was a bit abrupt, the epilogue seemed added on as an afterthought and just for the sake of teasing the next book. The book feels like only part of the book when it came to plot. Don't get me wrong, I would love to read about the interactions between all of the characters and how their relationship grows but for a fantasy, the magic and fantastical elements were few and far between other then the MC's not being of the same race. The saving grace of the book are Ildiko and Brishen's friendship and how they build on that. I know the next book is a continuation of the story, but I am not sure I want to continue with the series or not. Maybe this will be like many other …
This was a great story and paced pretty well till the last few pages of the book. The saving grace of the book are Ildiko and Brishen's friendship and how they build on that. I know the next book is a continuation of the story, but I am not sure I want to continue with the series or not. Maybe this will be like many other books in my TBR that are part of a series of which I have only ever read a book or 2. Maybe I will read the rest or not. Regardless of that I have to say I enjoyed the book which was the most important part of the experience for me.
I would rate this between 3 and 3.25
