Sax Russel reviewed Strata by Terry Pratchett
Review of 'Strata' on 'Goodreads'
3 stars
A very obviously early work of Prachett, it at times feels chunky, with scenes disconnected and leaving me wonder how we got here and what the point of it is. However, his signature wit and whimsy. This very obviously laid the ground work for the Discworld, while being almost nothing like it and wholly its own thing. It's very amusing as a parody of an admittedly strange yet iconic book, and brings up interesting question and world-building (pun not intended) in it's own universe.
Three stars cause... well if it wasn't Pratchett I wouldn't think it was a good book. Even for a clever parody of Ringworld.
