I liked this one much better than book 4. Now to wait for the next one!
Finally the other half of the story from a Feast of Crows. I liked the story but I don't like a lot of the outcomes for some of the characters. This is becomming more of a Fantasy soap opera and less about any specific character. It's hard to root for anyone. I think Martin is showing his television background with this. I enjoy reading this series but it's becoming a series I'm no longer being interested in.
For me the loss of a central character to focus the story is making it hard to care. There were choices that some characters of made that seemed at odds with their personalities earlier in the series. There is some discontinuity in those characters that causes me to slowly not care.
I can't wait for the next books so that I can finish this series but it's becoming boring as I read on. …

I can't wait for the next books so that I can finish this series but it's becoming boring as I read on. Still four stars because there is at least one or two characters I still care about. I just wish that Martin would go back to his original focus the one that started the entire series. The Stark family isn't gone so bring them back into the story.
This was the hardest ASoIaF book for me to finish. The last few chapters made up for everything, though. Can't wait for the next one!
Good book, better than the last couple of books. Parts were slow, but we are finally seeing the middle game come to an end and the pieces are all lining up to be removed from the board in the next two books.
