Borlú must travel from the decaying Beszel to the only metropolis on Earth as strange as his own. This is a border crossing like no other, a journey as psychic as it is physical, a shift in perception, a seeing of the unseen. His destination is Beszel’s equal, rival, and intimate neighbor, the rich and vibrant city of Ul Qoma. very Disco Elysium

Imagine Berlin without a wall but it is illegal to look at the other side. Also, the border is not one straight line, but very confusing, cutting through streets etc. Imagine a hard-boiled detective novel in such a setting. Felt very Disco Elysium to me, and I loved it. Would have been even better if not every main character was a man.
