The useful guidance and interesting dissection of narrative provided in this book are diminished somewhat by the laborious and repetitive prose and examples, particularly when a quick visit to IMDb shows that McKee has very little actual experience with the work; still, it is not entirely without use as it provides useful reminders and guideposts to constructing dynamic scripts.
