Who thought I would love a story centered around a human falling in love with a tentacled alien? But I did. And I am not at all sad about it. For all of the aliens in this book it deals with a lot of issues that face us normal humans - our wish to fit in, family drama, assassins... Ok maybe not the last part but still for all its outlandishness the story is quite grounded and tackles issues of sexuality, consent and homophobia quite well. Plus the narration on the audiobook by Greg Boudreaux was phenomenal. I know the next book is already out but I think I will wait till the 4th is out before I pick it up.
