Definitely an interesting book. A lot of media covers the idea of an AI exterminating humanity, yet a lot less cover the possibility of it torturing their creators for all eternity.
I have to admit that the most interesting aspect of the book is the main character and their very flawed senses. Them being fully convinced that they are unaffected by AM's manipulation and torture, while rambling about how the rest of the cast secretly hates him, is something I personally miss in modern media. The fact that the main characters is an unreliable narrator. I won't go into more detail, the short story is about 13 pages long, and thus not even an half an hour read. I recommend everyone to form their own opinion on it.
I do think the book to be overhyped. AM's reasoning for the destruction of humanity and the eternal torture of the main cast is barely if at all elaborated and it is expected of the reader to just assume it as normal behaviour that lacks need for explanation. The ending is also passable at best, and a copout at worst. AM, a almost god-like existence, one that can grant humans immortality and envelops the entire world, wasn't able to react to human attacks? And even worse, wasn't able to save said humans from an stab wound?
All in all, due to how short the story is, I can recommend everyone to read it, as it's not a heavy time sink, yet I'd argue it's the lenght of the story that falls to it's detriment.
