The view of Mother Theresa as someone who saw poverty as an opportunity for conversion is not particularly new (possibly because I read this book so long after it was written). What did surprise me, though, was the number of people who are determined to believe in the myth of her humanitarianism, even though neither her words nor her actions supported this view.
