4 years, and 4 days later and I've finished reading! No Danish isn't quite that hard to read, but it's certainly slower going still, even with a story I know pretty well. Glad I'm reading more again now I have some reading glasses though!

A GenX Englishman who left England for Denmark back in 2012 and now lives on the Danish island of Bornholm. Bookwise I've always been a big fan of Fantasy and Sci-fi growing up on Tolkien, Terry Brooks, Terry Pratchett and many a Forgotten Realms saga. Mastodon: @countstex@dice.camp

The end of an excellent saga. I had a few issues with some of the turns of phrase in this book (or indeed series) which feel overly modern, perhaps these would be fine if the book was written in third person, but jar a little given it is in first. And having read the first two books, by half way through this book I felt like things were beginning to drop off, but then the story comes back with possibly it's darkest arc and finishes with gusto!
In fact that final third probably added a star to my rating.
A strong ending to an enjoyable series.

A thourally interesting collection of histories of all the figures that in some way were involved in the events and situations that led up to the Great War. How the great powers of early 20th century Europe, who were perhaps closer than they had ever been suddenly found themselves turning on each other.
