This is the sequel to the Just City and it was fantastic. As in the first book, the characters just fly off the page and are good friends. I was shocked about how it began, but I loved that the story flowed. I wish that there would be more books in this universe as I find Plato's Republic interesting if not flawed. And that is the best part of it, are the flaws in the Republic. Not all of them are discussed in either book but the ones that are central to the characters definitely make sense.

The ending was very surprising but that just makes the entire story even better.
