I give this book a 4/5 not for its literary merits or its cultural authenticity, but rather because it was a fun, easy read that kept me from putting the book down since I got it on Friday. The characters were endearing (if somewhat predictable and at times unconvincing), and while I am not sure I trust the author as an authority on Iranian culture, the book did make me stop to ponder the relativity of the life experience. Written in simple, straightforward English, this book is perfect if you're looking for an easy to read love story that you can finish in a couple days' time.
