How one man killed Thomas Edison's company
5 stars
Great read. Certainly, it would be fair to accuse Gelles of relying too heavily on the "Great Man" view of history. He tends to mostly ignore the greater forces that enabled Jack Welch to make the decisions he made. However the story is very well told and I appreciated the further information on how the GE style of management impacted other companies like Boeing and Polaris. The details about Jack's forceful personality provides some truly astonishing moments.
