Review of 'The Wife Between Us' on 'Goodreads'
3 stars
It was okay, but not as engrossing as [b:Gone Girl|19288043|Gone Girl|Gillian Flynn|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1397056917s/19288043.jpg|13306276] or [b:The Girl on the Train|22557272|The Girl on the Train|Paula Hawkins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1490903702s/22557272.jpg|41107568], nor was it "deliciously chilling." The inside jacket blurb 'tipped its mitt' too far and one twist was revealed before I made it past the frontispiece. I was surprised to find two actual women wrote this, and not a dude who read issues of O, Glamour, Good Housekeeping, Elle, Women's World and decided he knew how to create a contemporary woman character.
There were twists, yes, so three stars. More chick-lit than Cornell Woolrich or Jim Thompson, though.
