Telgemeier is an extremely talented creator so perhaps 2 stars is a bit harsh, but this definitely felt a little less focused and impactful then smile so I had to separate the two somehow.
Maybe it's just because braces were just so traumatic for me that I felt that smile was so much better. Hitting me in a much more personal space. But Sisters just felt like it sort of danced around the point a bit too much. I certainly got annoyed with my younger brothers a lot, but it didn't feel like I learned enough about the sisters to really FEEL their relationship.
And then at the end we find out her parents are on the rocks?! That didn't really feel like something to end on, unless she's planning on writing another book. Well maybe I'm just nosy, but I do feel like it would have been interesting to …
