Gretchen Schwarzwald, or Little Red Riding Hood, is rescued by the Woodsman's Lodge Fire Master after her parents are killed by werewolves. Little Red Riding Hood's real name is Gretchen Schwarzwald, and she is from the Schwarzwald (the Black Forest) in Germany. Ten years ago, she was orphaned by an evil Earth Master who wanted her parents' land and killed them all with the werewolves he created. She was rescued by a Fire Master, a member of the Woodsman's Lodge, and taught how to use her own Fire Powers. Now another werewolf pack is ravaging Exmoor, and she has come to help London's White Lodge eradicate it and find and destroy the Elemental Master behind it.

I loved many of the other Elemental Masters books, but this was not good. I don't know if she used a ghostwriter, or her quality had fallen down, but it was weirdly bad. Usually, I fall in love with Lackey's characters. I just couldn't care about Rosa. It was trite and uninteresting. The main character is OP without being a superhero. She has huge case of "not like other girls", which is kinda sexist. Also, it trades heavily in stereotypes of the Roma. Not recommended.
