My first Young Animal title, as a long time Vertigo fan I'm more than a little jaded, but such is life. Trying to put these feelings aside for a moment my thoughts are the following.
A bit much crazy for craziness sake, as someone who tries to examine female representation in all the comics that I read, this is a pretty solid addition to the "strong women who aren't perfect" canon of things. I feel like most people who are interested in forward-looking female representation will enjoy this book, although people less interested/invested in such things will likely get less mileage out of it. Although the examination of bullying might also be of interest to some, it's certainly given me something to think about.
Both the art and story are pretty solid so far, and despite the fact that this was supposed to be a story with a good dose …
