Review of 'The passion according to G.H.' on 'Storygraph'
5 stars
On the cover, a blurb from The New York Times reads, "the premier Latin American woman prose writer of this (20th) century". I'll never read NYT book reviews again, but I'll read Lispector over and over. Her writing clearly belongs in the same reverence as Kafka's -- those excessive qualifiers of "Latin American", "woman", "prose", "this century" do the book and Lispector's work great injustice.
