This book is entirely about events that took place on the day of December 28, 1986. A lot of the stories are very sad and violent, so be expecting that. It makes sense, though, because they relied on newspaper articles to find people to interview. And horrible stories make the best news.

I did appreciate that they explained what happened on the day and what lead up to the event or what resulted because of it. I wasn't really expecting this, and it was a pleasant surprise to not just have the doom and gloom.

The story that sticks in my mind the most at this moment was a murder/suicide where the murderer became a donator of a heart and you get to follow up with the woman who received it as the surgery happened on the same day. This was also fascinating because they did a deep dive into …
