Really enjoyable slow burn.

This was a slow burn book for sure. But not in a bad way. I found the entire story to be engaging and it didn't lag during the slow buro their character the whole way through.n portion at all. The plot was still moving, the characters were still flushing out in the right ways, and the tension was there the whole way through.
The school atmosphere with the misfit MC was perfectly executed. All of the characters were believable and remained true through the book.
Definite trigger warnings for sexual assault and depression.
SPOILERY PORTION
I was frequently reminded of the Brock Turner sexual assault case during this book. I'm not sure if that was an inspiration for this in any way, but it definitely recalled the event for me.
