Decent low-level drama romance.
3 stars
This was a random book grab from a library display. Not too disappointing, but definitely not amazing.
Overall, I gave this story 2.5 stars. However, I had to round it up to 3 because of the dogs and the fostering situations. You could tell that Jaci knew the processes and issues surrounding fostering, and since I have started volunteering at a senior dog rescue in my area, it was really refreshing to see it being discussed and normalized for rescued dogs to be able to still live their best lives, even if it means taking a senior dog on a walk in a stroller so they can still get out. This was a super simple read which is what I was needing since I was in a bad reading slump. There were some sentences that made me give the book some side-eye, but overall it just kind of chugged along. The "drama" only happens within the last 20 pages of the book. You know where it's heading and how they're going to react to the scenario, but I was almost not sure that they were even going to have any head-butting because it took so long to get to that point of the book. So if you want a very low-drama romance and don't mind rolling your eyes a few times, this is not a bad book for that.
