Review of 'Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, The' on 'Goodreads'
2 stars
I used to participate in Cacophony events, as a fun, nonconformist "Mess Up the Normals" activity. I began this book thinking I'd identify with Miss Frances Rose Landau-Banks, but she's privileged, and undertakes her pranks in solitude, and surprisingly, I found myself empathizing with her boyfriend Matthew at the end of the book. She's more of a psychopath, and not so much the great liberator she sees herself to be. To some depth her formative years seem to be influenced by the 43rd US President's administration, mistaking vandalism for "enduring freedom" and whatnot.
