Couch is spotty -- I was hoping the absurdism would remain constant through the novel, never parting from magic realism, but was disappointed. Some spoiler scenes don't seem believable, instead of ambiguous or mysterious. The concept to open the novel is fresh, but left me jetlagged in the last seventy pages.
