Loved that bit by David Graeber, where he mentioned how the very notion of having to obey strict, excessively long work hours itself probably fueled more outrage than just mere efficiency by using machinery. Prior to that, the Sun rose, you got up and about your business. The protests still got framed as utter stupidity against inevitable progress ever since. Whished I could interview the poor workers from the dark ages of early industrialisation about their Corp. "benefits"... 😇
