Wow, does this series just keeps getting better.
As of volume 4 we not only have positive portrayal of female sexuality, characters that continue to develop with each issue, not creepy nudity, a nuanced and honest portrayal of BDSM, women helping women and now a few shirtless sexy guys to start and balance things out. I mean, Sunstone ranked really high with me on its portrayal of female nudity, but Sejic is pretty much ruining me for all other comics at this point by being willing to bring in some equally sexy male scenes.
Otherwise, I was really impressed by the character development going on in this issue. Being a sex centric comic, it's been pretty understandable that has been a big part of their characterization so far, but now we're getting to dig in behind the curtain as it were. The sex energy is still front and center, but their getting to the part of the relationship where the facade starts to crumble and people need to start being honest with each other. And I am really glad they get to act like human beings, they aren't just WOMEN (who have magical levels of understanding about feelings) or some fantasy lesbian couple catering to some perfect male fantasy.
