A bit of a mixed bag for me, on the one hand I really loved the characterization of the robots and the colour pages, on the other hand why does every man have to be old fat and ugly while every woman is young, sexy and scantily clad? The fact that the women were at least capable and competent left the comic largely palatable. It's just so blatantly appealing to the male gaze that it's more silly then anything else. Visually censoring reality for the pleasure of a target audience.

Being a fan of the movie it was interesting to see how the two compared and contrasted. All the elements of the movie are there in the book, but in a much more disconnected fashion.

The art style felt a bit cramped and hard to follow at times, but that's not entirely alien experience for me reading action packed comics. I still have a hard time following action more often then not so I shall not blame Shirow for this one lol.
