Un Dorian Gray sin pasado, ni patria ni bandera.

I'm just a guy who likes to go on adventures, literary or otherwise. I mostly read fantasy, sci-fi, and/or litrpg.

Peter S. Beagle: I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons (Hardcover, 2024, Simon & Schuster Books For Young Readers)

Dragons are common in the backwater kingdom of Bellemontagne, coming in sizes from mouselike vermin …

I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons

The story itself was nothing remarkable, though still enjoyable. What really stood out for me though was the style he wrote in. I don't want to say it was poetical per say, but he definitely has a way with words that I appreciated.

TJ Klune: Somewhere Beyond the Sea (Paperback, 2024, Tor Publishing Group)

Somewhere Beyond the Sea is the hugely anticipated sequel to TJ Klune’s The House in …

Not quite the first

The first in this series really was amazing; I call it a warm hug. The sequel, while good, wasn't as good as the first. I still enjoyed it, but it didn't quite have the magic the first did. The ending also was a bit anticlimactic in that it seemed they were gearing for something much bigger, and then it just went away.

TJ Klune: Under the Whispering Door (Hardcover, 2021, Tor Books)

Welcome to Charon's Crossing. The tea is hot, the scones are fresh, and the dead …

Under the Whispering Door

I loved House on the Cerulean Sea, but this one was just okay. Nothing bad about it per se, but it just wasn't as captivating for me as the other.

Caitlin Rozakis: Dreadful (2024, Titan Books Limited)

It’s bad enough waking up in a half-destroyed evil wizard’s workshop with no eyebrows, no …

Dreadful

A dark wizard wakes up with his memories missing, a captured princess, and a castleful of goblins working for him. From here he has to discover who he was and who he wants to be. It was an enjoyable read and I love a decent antihero story.

Olivie Blake: Atlas Six (2022, Doherty Associates, LLC, Tom)

For a story about a magical school they barely talk about the actual studies or school. It's more about the scandals between the six of them.

Orson Scott Card: The Gate Thief (2013, TOR)

The Gate Thief

The series is entertaining enough, and it has a decent take on recycling gods from history. But I wouldn't say they're amazing or must reads. If you liked OSC's other books, the Mithermage series will probably be an enjoyable read for you.
